What Type of Spirit Are You?  TAKE THE QUIZ

Life-Changing Lessons I Learned Growing Up in a Psychic Family

Most of us are raised in five-sensory families, where conversations about spirit guides, energy, or intuition aren't exactly the norm.

But have you ever wondered what it’s like growing up in a psychic family, where those things are everyday topics? And what kind of lessons do you learn when intuition is a regular part of life?

Today, I want to talk to you about what it was like to grow up in a psychic spiritual family, some of the life lessons I learned, and a few things you could apply to your own life, too.

Lesson One: Trust Your Vibes Always and in All Ways

In my family, your vibes were just as important as any information you gathered from the world around you.

It can be so easy in a world that prioritizes intellect and information to forget that we haven’t always been given the tools or permission to trust our vibes. But in my world, your vibes were your compass. You talked about your guides, you connected to your vibes that was our lifeblood.

Even as a little kid, I remember how my sister and I were taught that if we ever had a bad vibe, we could go to my mom and just squeeze her hand two times. That was our secret code for: get me out of here. No need to explain. Just that alone meant our vibes were important, valued, honored, and acted upon.

What I see so often in teaching and mentoring is that people are already physically connected and divinely guided. Your vibes work perfectly. It’s not about becoming better ordevelopingyour intuition; it’s about honoring it first.

You have a vibe.

You don’t need to explain it.

Just trust it.

Doing so builds your confidence in yourself, your vibes, and your intuition. You’ll begin to pay attention not just to your subconscious—but to the language of your spirit.

Lesson Two: There’s Always a Solution

One thing my family instilled in me is that no matter what you’re facing, there is always a solution.

So often, when we hit a roadblock, we get stuck. We feel trapped whether it’s in a job, a relationship, a situation, or even something simple like choosing a restaurant.

But when we shift our mindset and start to believe that a solution exists, we get curious. And curiosity is one of the foundations of intuitive and psychic development. When you’re curious, you’re listening.

I remember growing up, we’d play this game called 10,000 Solutions.”

If I had a problem—say, a school principal I didn’t like, my mom would say, Okay, let’s come up with 20 solutions.”

We’d bounce them around like a ball:

  • Don’t talk to him.
  • Protest.
  • (And so many others I don’t even remember now)

But the point wasn’t the list.

It was the energy behind it.

The first ideas usually came from the head, from the intellect. But if you keep going, something drops in. And that’s the voice of your spirit and intuition—it will surprise you.

Suddenly, you’re not only solving a problem, but reconnecting with your creativity, your power, and your sense of self.

When we disconnect from our intuitive sense, we become overly linear.

We think what we know is all there is to know.

But it’s not.

There’s always more.

And there’s always a solution.

Lesson Three: Appearance Is the Least Reliable Thing

My mom used to say this. And my Nana did too.

My Nana was deaf and hard of hearing. She grew up in Romania and lost her hearing during the Holocaust. Because of that, she learned to navigate the world using her intuitive sense.

She’d say:

Don’t listen to what people say—listen to the vibration. How it feels.”

That was a huge lesson.

In today’s world, with Instagram, social media, and filters, we’re constantly being shown polished surfaces. But if we start to believe that’s the whole truth, we miss something deeper.

When you stop relying solely on appearances and start asking:

  • Does this resonate?
  • Is that true?
  • Does this feel right?

you reconnect to your intuitive sense and to your real self.

Appearance isn’t just unreliable, it’s often a facade.

But your intuition? That’s where the truth lives.

These are just some of the lessons I learned growing up in a psychic family, and there are so many more.
