What Type of Spirit Are You?  TAKE THE QUIZ

Are you outsourcing your intuition?

Why stepping back from the noise isn’t falling behind—it’s finding your way back to yourself.

Are you outsourcing your intuition
Hello sweets,

It’s been a hot minute since I sent out a newsletter—honestly, I’ve been recovering from doing too much. I had to step back from creating “content” because, quite frankly, the vibe was off. Every time I would sit down to make videos or write Instagram posts, my Spirit would deflate—like one of those inflatable car things the moment it was unplugged.

I was unplugged from my Spirit and instead stuck in what I “should” or “needed” to do, instead of creating because it aligned with my Spirit. Creating feels good. Teaching and sharing are most powerful when they come from a space of being grounded in my mission on planet Earth. It’s quite the reminder of how willful the ego is and how easily the mind can get stuck in a groove, believing confusing stories for reality.

When the joy seeps out, something’s off.

I saw how stuck I was in a loop—thinking about how I should create, the “right” way, needing to use specific language or hooks because that’s how you’re supposed to do it. And I did. But the deeper I fell into the right-versus-wrong mindset, the more joy drained from everything I was doing, leaving me confused.

What am I doing? What am I saying? What am I sharing, and from where: my head or my heart?

Pressing pause to realign.

I decided to take a big step back—to stop making videos, stop creating new posts on Instagram, and just reflect.

What do I want to share that truly lights me up?

I had to give myself permission to slow down and reassess—to follow the flow of energy and intuition without letting fear take the lead. I knew I wasn’t abandoning my responsibilities, and my work wouldn’t grind to a halt where I’d be left behind. Instead, I chose to go slow.

I needed to reassess because the way I approached work was leaving me burned out. I took the courageous road: following both my heart and my head, with faith that creating in alignment would not only feel better but overflow into every aspect of my life and business.

We live in a world obsessed with speed.

The world around us is moving at hyperspeed. We’re bombarded with constant input and pressed for continuous output. We’ve been taught that our worth is measured by how productive we are.

Many of us were raised on “grind” culture—grind no matter what, and you’ll be rewarded in the end. Stay tied to your phone, your computer, your work.

But here’s the truth: We’re not wired for constant input and output.

The constant notifications, scrolling, news alerts, and texting block our ability to process the world around us. We need space to digest our emotions, reflect, and draw our own conclusions. Otherwise, our intuition gets drowned out, and we start placing authority outside of ourselves—constantly absorbing images, videos, and information about the “right way” to do things, or what others are accomplishing.

We’re conditioned to believe the answers are out there—when really, they’re inside us.

Are we outsourcing our intuition?

I know I’m not the only one guilty of immediately going to Reddit, TikTok, YouTube, or Google to find the best solution for any problem.

But that reflex constantly places authority outside of us. Instead of checking in within—listening to our heart and intuition first—we seek external validation before trusting our own guidance.

Most importantly, we need space for the lost art of boredom.

Boredom allows us to dream, imagine, listen to our intuition, and receive guidance when we’re in a receptive state.

The “Brain Drain” Effect: Why Our Phones Steal Our Energy

Recently, I read about the “brain drain” hypothesis, which proposes that just having a smartphone nearby takes up so much mental space that it leaves us with fewer cognitive resources for other tasks—making it harder to focus, think clearly, and process information.

📱 The Experiment:

Researchers split participants into three groups based on where their phones were:

  • On the desk (visible)
  • In a pocket or bag (out of sight but close)
  • In another room (completely away)

Then, they ran tests measuring memory, problem-solving, and attention.

💡 The Results: It didn’t matter if the phones were on or off—

  • Those with phones in another room performed the best.
  • Those with phones in their pockets or bags were in the middle.
  • Those with phones visible did the worst.

Just having their phones nearby negatively affected their ability to think—even if they weren’t checking them!

Smartphones drain our attention without us even noticing. They don’t just distract us—they take up valuable mental space.

As intuitives, we are deeply affected by what we consume.

We drink in the world intensely. We’re sensitive to energy.

Sensitivity is a gift, but it requires awareness. What we consume affects our conscious and subconscious mind, shaping our emotions and intuitive clarity.

What I learned from taking a break.

After stepping away, I noticed:

✅ I was less anxious.
✅ I compared myself less to others.
✅ My own creative insights flowed in more freely.
✅ I no longer felt like I was falling behind.
✅ I had more time for my spiritual routines.
✅ I felt less rushed.

Putting my phone away helped me reclaim my focus and reconnect with my intuition.

So, what do we do?

I knew what was and wasn’t working—I felt it in my body and saw it in my day-to-day life.

I had a choice:

➡️ Follow my guidance and the flow of energy
OR
➡️ Keep piling on more information as a bandaid—just more doing.

It was the gift of a return to consciousness—to be aware and make choices instead of getting stuck in a cycle of react, react, react.

Phones are tools, but are they controlling us?

Let’s be honest: we’re not going to get rid of our smartphones. (Though there’s a whole movement around “dumbphones,” which only have essential functions.)

📌 Phones are just tools—it’s how we engage with them that matters.

But the real question is: Are we using them consciously?

A few questions to check in with yourself:

❓ Am I in a cycle of should, have to, must?
❓ Am I caught up in surface appearances?
❓ Am I checking in with my Spirit?
❓ Am I letting external input become the authority in my life?
❓ Is there really a “right” way to do it?
❓ Have I lost my sense of play?
❓ Am I responding or just reacting?

Give yourself the gift of pausing.

Take a moment to check in.

Don’t get overwhelmed by the intellect, which spins stories from the past… or emotions that come and go like waves.

✨ Instead, go deeper—listen to your Spirit and intuition.

Your intuition has been speaking all along. Now, you’ve made space to truly listen.
