Friendship, Spirituality and Intuition

Sonia:

Hi, welcome back! Today, I am so excited because I have a very special guest with me. We’re going to be talking about one of my favorite subjects: spirituality, friendship, and fun.

And today, I want to introduce you to my best friend in the whole wide world—Haley!

Haley:

Hi everyone, I’m Haley!

Sonia:

Hi Haley! One of my favorite ways to talk about intuition and spirituality is by having this little nugget 👉(Haley) help me be a great container for these conversations. We wanted to share some of the ways we use our friendship to deepen our spiritual practice, strengthen our intuition, and trust ourselves more in the present moment.

So, Haley, why don’t you tell me a little bit about yourself?

Haley:

Well, we’re currently in my hometown, Anacortes, where I live. We’re sitting in my garden, and yeah, I love gardening, which is actually super spiritual for me. Being outside and in nature is something that Sonia and I share a lot when she visits.

This morning, we went for a hike in the woods and even jumped in the water—it had that nice, refreshing September bite to it.

Sonia:

Definitely a good reset for cleaning out old energy.

Haley:

Yeah! I spend a lot of time outside. I love doing art, and I also listen to music. But I think one of my favorite things is just being outside in nature, which ties into my spirituality. Sonia and I share a lot of that—just being in nature really helps me ground and connect with my spirit.

Sonia:

Absolutely. Being out in nature is such an important part of my spiritual practice, and I always feel supported by it. When I visit Anacortes, I love that sense of grounding and connection that comes from being in a place like this. It helps me get present and clear away the clutter in my mind.

Haley:

It really does help focus your attention. For me, listening to running water is super calming. I love going to the ocean, and being near water helps me feel more centered. I also connect a lot with animal medicine, paying attention to the lessons animals offer—whether it’s squirrels, ravens, or even caterpillars. There’s so much divine information in those little things when we pay attention.

Sonia:

I love that. And what I really appreciate about our friendship is that we talk about intuition in the present moment, even though it can be easy to get disconnected, especially when we aren’t talking about it. For me, the throat chakra is where intuition often goes to die. But when you have a container—a trusting relationship where you can share your intuitive hits, your nudges—it really helps you trust and grow that connection. One of my favorite things about our friendship is that we share our experiences: our stories, our card pulls, and even our dreams. So Haley, what’s it like for you talking about these things out loud with me?

Haley:

It’s so validating. I mean, sometimes if you’re not in a spiritual community, it can be easy to doubt your experiences, or even feel like you’re imagining things. But having someone to talk to about it—someone who really gets it—makes it feel more real, more important, and more honored. It gives it space in my life. When I can share something with you, it feels like I’m prioritizing it, and it becomes more meaningful.

Sonia:

I love that. I think it’s so important to have a space where you can express those things. Do you talk to anyone else about your spiritual practices or intuition, or do you feel comfortable sharing those things with others?

Haley:

The older I get, the more open I am about sharing that part of myself, but I still honor it deeply. It’s something I’m protective of. It’s not something I share lightly, but I do have a few close friends I talk to about it. I also try to talk to my brother about it. Our dad passed away about five years ago, and a lot of my spiritual connection comes through him. I like talking to my brother about it because I want to normalize that connection for him, to help him develop his own relationship with our dad in a spiritual way. But mostly, I share these things with close friends who reflect back that sense of support.

Sonia:

That’s beautiful. For me, growing up in an intuitive family, I was always able to talk about these things and develop my own relationship with how my intuition works. When we start talking about it, we normalize the conversation, and it’s like we come out of the closet, so to speak. Giving voice to these things and using grounded language helps people feel more comfortable sharing.

I hear so many people say they want a spiritual community but feel like no one understands them. But it’s through language, through sharing, that we create that space for others.

So, Haley, what’s one of your favorite tools or practices you’d like to share with my sweet friends? Something that helps ground you or connect you?

Haley:

The first thing that comes to mind is singing. I’ve done a lot of work around my throat chakra, and singing is something that brings me so much joy. I have a playlist of songs I love to sing along to—it’s everything from Natalie Imbruglia to Megan Thee Stallion. It’s a very diverse list! I love singing in the car or when I’m home alone. It makes me feel connected to my body, and I think there’s so much power in vibration.

Sonia:

I love that! I’ve been hearing you sing in the shower, and it’s been inspiring me to sing more, which I love. That high vibe energy really spreads!

Haley:

Exactly! And I think everyone should sing. Sometimes people get caught up on whether they’re a good singer, but it’s not about that. It’s about enjoying the process of making music and creating. It’s the feeling of it that matters.

Sonia:

Yes, exactly.

Haley:

It’s like when you talk about it, you really own it. You’re able to say, “This is mine, this is my practice, this is my intuition.” And it just feels so much more real when you say it out loud.

Sonia:

I’m so grateful for my best friend in the whole world, and I’m so excited to share her with you all today. Thank you, Haley!

Haley:

I’m so grateful that you’ve been in my life and helped nurture my own spiritual practice. I’m also grateful that all of you get to learn from her, just like I do!

Sonia:

We love you all! Thank you, and bye!

Haley:

Bye!
