Do you get intuitive hits and nudges all the time, but you struggle to trust your intuition and more importantly, yourself?
Today, I’m going to share five simple tools to help you develop confidence in your intuitive self and, more importantly, in yourself.
Your intuition is your life force, your innate soul’s divine GPS system. It constantly guides you to your highest good and tells you the truth. It is deeply rooted in self-worth and self-love.
But often we can very easily struggle to trust our intuition, leaving us in what I call the would’ve, should’ve, could’ve club. So I’m going to share with you some simple practices to help you develop confidence in your intuition, develop that confidence, more importantly, in yourself so that you can stop fighting against life or trying to figure out your intuitive guidance and live with more ease.
This happens all the time. I was on the phone with a client just earlier today doing a reading, and she was telling me, “I get so many intuitive hits and nudges, but it’s hard for me to trust it. Sometimes I get confused, and then I wind up overthinking, and perfectionism is perfectionism, but I lose the moment.”
Let’s start to unpack that. When we make decisions guided by our intuition, each time we make that choice, we affirm to ourselves that we trust our intuition and our intuitive guidance.
So, I’m going to give you five simple tools.
Let’s start with tool number one. And it’s something that I learned from my mom growing up in an intuitive household.
Before you ask other people’s opinions, ask your intuition first.
This will start to foster a conversation between yourself and your spirit and will help you become clearer on your spirit’s language.
When we’re struggling with something, we often like to ask our partners, friends, neighbors, and family members, who all have different opinions. And that can add to a cacophony of noise.
When you practice first to ask your intuition, “What does my intuition say?”
That’s what my mom would say to me. I’d be like, “Oh, I don’t know about going on this date or making this decision or whatever.” She always paused and said, “What does your intuition say?” Then, take a moment, go with it, and listen.
Intuition doesn’t speak English.
It might appear as a word, a gut feeling, or an image. Before you try to figure out or decode it, sit with it and see what naturally unfolds.
This will give you insight into how your intuition and spirit speak to you. Trust that the guidance you ask for and the solution you ask for will come up. Expect your intuition to work. That is a very simple way to start building your confidence because now we start to understand how your intuition speaks to you.
Number two, use that inward listening that has built your practice.
You might be clairvoyant and see images. You might be clairsentient, feeling. Maybe you’re claircognizant, getting downloads. Maybe you’re clairaudient, hearing messages. All of these ways are how your intuition, that is your je ne sais quoi, gets you your guidance.
So the more that we turn inward, the more that we start to pay attention to our own language, that gives us an authority, that gives us a place to really build not only that vocabulary but also start to notice all the other ways that our intuition is speaking to us. When we start to build that conversation, you’ll start to notice in your day-to-day life when you’re grocery shopping or whatever, that all of a sudden you’ll be like, “Oh, that is my intuition. Those are my signals.”
Anchor it in. Ask, “How does my body feel? Where in my body do I feel it? What are these things?”
The more language and context we can give it, the more we can ground it into the physical plane. The more you will be conscious of it and know and trust your intuition.
Number three, keep it small.
Use your intuition throughout your day to make little decisions, whether what to watch on Netflix or what you should have for dinner or going for a walk.
The more we can use our intuition in little things all the time, the more we will build not only that conversation with our spirit with ourselves but also our intuitive muscles.
It’s like going to the gym. The more that you do those reps, the more that you show up, the more that you use your intuition in no big deal sorts of ways, the more you’ll trust when big things come in, the more that you’ll trust and know all the ways that your intuitive guidance speaks to you.
And that also reminds me that a lot of times, intuition is a lot of no big deal, little things.
It’s not like Elvis Presley walking down the street with the parade and all these different things. Intuition is subtle. It’s little.
For example, the other day, I went out with my car. It’s a beautiful day out, and suddenly, I got the hit, “Yo, go get a jacket.” And in my mind, my intellect is like, “Why do I need my jacket? It’s 80 degrees out. You’re not getting a jacket.” But instead of talking myself out of going to get a jacket, I acted on it. Guess what? Temperature dropped. I was so happy I had my layer. I was like, “That’s my intuition. Thank you.”
That brings me to number four. Act on your intuitive guidance.
When you get a hit and a nudge, when you’re little, when you get that, “Go get that jacket,” it doesn’t have to make sense. Don’t make it have to make sense. You will lose the moment.
Just like in the case of my jacket, if I thought about it logically, talking myself out of going to get a jacket, I would have lost the moment. I would have been freezing because it would have made logical sense, but my intuition was telling me something that my mind hadn’t picked up on.
The more that we can act, the more we move into ownership, the more we build our confidence, and the more we exercise those deep intuitive muscles.
And last but not least, this is a very powerful way to train your mind to be in service to your spirit and to your intuition.
Write down all the ways that you’ve already gotten intuitive guidance every single day.
Write down those hits, write down those nudges. Go through your Rolodex of history and all those big moments where your intuition is speaking to you, and write it down physically on a piece of paper.
When we start to write things down, our hands become an extension of our heart space. This practice connects our conscious and subconscious minds and allows us to slow down.
So, keep writing it down. You will have a list of all the ways that your intuitive guidance has worked and been on point, and your conscious mind isn’t against you. It actually looks at that list and says, “Proof is in the pudding. I trust, affirm, and act on my intuitive guidance.”
So I hope that you enjoyed this read. If you did, tell me what one simple tool you will use.
