Wouldn't you love to have a key to inner peace, harmony, authentic self-expression, and a deeper connection with your spirit guides, your angels, and most importantly, your own truth?
Today, we’re going to do a deep dive into the principle of karma.
And karma isn’t what you think. It’s not something negative. It’s not a punishment.
In terms of the Librian esoteric principle of karma, it is all about looking at our soul lessons, paying attention to our accountability, and using our intuition to break apart old patterns that keep us stuck. That is why our soul is here to learn.
Karma Simply Means Lesson
It is the garden that is grown from the seeds that we plant today through our actions.
For example, if you go to the gym every day, the result is that you’ll get stronger. If you show up to your meditation, to your divine daily appointment, your decision to connect with your intuition and be guided, the karma, the result of that, will be that you are guided and connected in flow.
A really easy way to think about this is:
- What are the lessons my soul is here to learn?
- Where do I find myself stuck in repeating patterns?
- Where can I bring more balance and harmony into my life?
Your Intuition Is the Voice of Your Spirit
The way we begin to access our karma isn’t through the intellect or endless thinking.
It’s through deep listening.
Listening to our heart space.
Listening to our intuition.
Our intuition is the voice of our spirit that speaks truth.
The truth is that karma isn’t always easy because it asks us to grow. When we want to change a pattern in our lives, we have to make different decisions. That’s the only way.
Imagine a science experiment. If you keep putting in the same X and Y, you’ll always get the same result. You need to introduce a new ingredient Z to create an entirely different outcome.
That new choice creates a new paradigm.
The Ripple Effect of Change
As human beings, we are deeply interconnected.
Our relationships with our family, our workplace, ourselves, and Spirit all influence one another.
When we intentionally step into our karma, our lessons, and begin to grow, heal, and shift, it’s like a mobile hanging in perfect balance. Every piece is connected. When one part moves, everything else begins to move too.
Often that creates a reaction.
Especially if we’re working on our relationships, boundaries, or changing old dynamics, we may experience pushback. We may feel disappointment, discomfort, or be faced with a difficult decision.
At its heart, karma is asking us to lean into change.
And change, for the human ego, can feel really scary.
But karma reminds us that life is already changing. Everything is always in motion, whether we make a decision or not.
The Power of “I Decide”
When we begin paying attention to our karma, we reconnect with our power.
One of the most powerful things you can say is:
“I decide.”
The moment you truly decide something, that intention ripples out into the universe.
It creates change.
It creates growth.
It creates agency.
It creates a paradigm shift that opens an entirely new world.
It’s like swimming in the ocean and then putting on a snorkel and goggles. Suddenly, you see the beautiful fish and the incredible world that was there all along but hidden beneath the surface.
A Story About Family Karma
To make this more tangible, I want to share a reading I did for a woman years ago.
She was a lawyer who hated her job.
She loved her family deeply. Her parents had emigrated from Syria to the United States and sacrificed everything to give her opportunities. Because of that, she felt an enormous responsibility to make sure their sacrifices weren’t in vain.
Her family highly valued professions like law and medicine, so she became a lawyer.
But after graduating, she hated it.
She came to me and said:
“Sonia, I feel so stuck. I’ve read all these books and tried all these practices, but nothing is changing. What is my lesson? What’s blocking my way? What I really want is a relationship and a family of my own, but nothing is working.”
I asked her to reflect on where she felt stuck while I tuned into her energy.
It became clear that she had a lot of karma around her family.
She loved them deeply, but her desire to be a good daughter and earn their approval had led her into a life that wasn’t aligned with her own truth.
She had built a life around meeting expectations instead of following her own heart.
The Lesson Wasn’t Moving Away
I invited her to get grounded, connect with her heart, and listen to her intuition.
The very first thing she said was:
“I’ve got to move.”
Then almost immediately:
“I can’t move.”
I told her that the desire to move made sense.
But the deeper lesson wasn’t about changing cities.
It was about becoming independent while staying connected to her family.
It was about no longer making decisions based on approval.
Because when we continually seek approval, we end up making decisions that aren’t aligned with our heart, our truth, our intuition, or our spirit.
No matter how successful you become…
No matter how good of a daughter, son, partner, or professional you are…
You’ll never find lasting satisfaction, harmony, or peace if you’re living someone else’s life.
Her karma (her lesson) was to find her autonomy, step into her own power, and begin listening inward.
What did she actually want to create?
Where could she stop seeking approval while remaining loving, connected, and authentic?
Small Decisions Create Big Shifts
I gave her some tools around boundaries and staying present in her body.
She took responsibility.
She realized:
“I’ve created this life, and I did a really good job, even though it’s a play I didn’t sign up for. Now I’m going to use this same energy to start listening to what actually makes my heart feel good.”
She didn’t quit her law career.
Instead, she started a small floral business simply because she loved having flowers around her home.
Suddenly, creativity blossomed.
The flowers became a doorway into joy.
She continued practicing law, but this little business became an extension of her creativity, her gifts, and her spirit.
As her confidence grew, the relationship with her family began to change.
Instead of seeking approval, she sought connection through honesty.
She realized that changing the family system might create ripple effects, but it wasn’t dangerous.
It was simply change.
She also discovered that much of the fear she carried about separating from her family wasn’t actually hers.
Her parents had lost their own families and communities when they emigrated, and that fear had quietly shaped many of her decisions.
Once she recognized it, she could choose differently.
Eventually, she moved to San Francisco, started her own law practice, and truly began to individuate.
Today, she works from home as a lawyer, continues her floral business, and has found a loving relationship because she knows who she is and understands where her soul is growing.
That has become her North Star.
How to Discover Your Own Karma
Instead of thinking about karma as punishment or consequences, ask yourself: What is my lesson?
Notice how your ego responds.
It often says life is black and white.
Right or wrong.
All or nothing.
It tells you to work harder.
It creates stories that keep you feeling stuck.
Then gently thank your ego for trying to help.
Allow it to step aside.
Rub your hands together.
Place them over your heart.
Close your eyes.
Bring your awareness into your heart space.
Think about where you feel stuck.
Where has your intellect been driving the bus?
Then simply ask your heart to speak.
Imagine the answer rising naturally from within.
Say out loud:
“My intuition says…”
Then complete the sentence.
Your voice is one of your most powerful spiritual tools.
When you speak your truth aloud, your body, your throat, your mind, and your heart begin to align.
Giving voice to your guidance allows it to resonate more deeply.
Questions to Reflect On
Ask yourself:
- What is my problem?
- Can I become open to a solution?
- Where am I out of balance?
- Where is there disharmony in my life?
- Where do I feel stuck?
Pause.
Notice the energy.
Then ask:
What’s one action I need to take?
Sometimes the answer is beautifully practical.
Maybe you need healthier boundaries.
Maybe you need more self-care.
Maybe it’s time to move your body, learn a new skill, have a difficult conversation, or finally make the decision you’ve been avoiding.
Often we say, “I know I have to do this.”
That’s usually the mind.
Your intuition is often much clearer.
Sometimes your entire lesson is simply making the decision that creates movement.
Your Soul Is Here to Learn
So what is your karma?
What is your relationship with that word?
Where can you grow?
Where can you learn?
What are you here to learn in this lifetime?
That’s our role as souls having a human experience.
Just as a teacher isn’t there to punish you but to help you learn, your guides, angels, intuition, and higher support systems are here to help you learn your lessons with grace, ease, flow, kindness, and love.
As you begin making new decisions, place one hand on your heart and one on your belly.
As you move through change, remind yourself:
I’m not in danger. I’m simply doing something different.
You’re building a life, an energy, and a sense of home that truly supports you.
That is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
Part of my own lesson has been moving away from seeking approval and unlocking my creativity.
That journey has helped me grow in countless ways.
Tune in with curiosity.
Tune in with compassion.
Listen to your heart, not just your head, and ask yourself what new actions and choices you can make today that will create positive ripples throughout your life, like a pebble dropped into a pond.
I’m sending you all my love, and I’ll see you next week.
Sonia
