What Type of Spirit Are You?  TAKE THE QUIZ

3 Lessons I Learned While Traveling in Southeast Asia

I've been traveling in Southeast Asia since the beginning of the year.

I’ve intentionally taken a break from creating content and from the analytical side of my brain as a way to refill my soul and nourish my spirit.

Today, I wanted to share some of the beautiful lessons I’ve learned from my travels.

Let’s dive into three different lessons I’ve learned from traveling in Southeast Asia.

This isn’t my first visit; I usually come here at the beginning of the year for an energetic reset. However, due to COVID and other circumstances, there has been a significant gap since then.

I’m in Vietnam, and the first major lesson I’ve learned is to go with the flow.

In Vietnam, traffic is unlike anything you see in the States. There are often no traffic lights, and people merge freely, using their horns to signal their presence. It can be overwhelming if you’re used to a more structured driving environment, but I’ve realized it’s all about flow.

The more you trust yourself, the people around you, and the universe while paying attention, the more you’ll get where you need to be. Things work out, and you don’t always have to be in control. The universe responds to your confidence and decisions, whether you’re following your intuition or navigating the streets.

The second lesson I’ve learned is the power of ritual.

Throughout Southeast Asia, from Cambodia to Thailand to Vietnam, the practice of connecting with spirit through prayer and ritual is deeply ingrained in daily life. I’ve had the privilege of visiting various temples and observing the importance of these rituals.

What I admire is the emphasis on communal rituals and how they support spiritual connection. Moving forward, I plan to double down on my own rituals, including maintaining altars and daily practices that nourish my spirit. Sharing these practices with others enriches your spiritual life and creates a sense of community.

The third lesson is the generosity of spirit.

Often, when we’re absorbed in media and our own fears, the world can seem dangerous and unwelcoming. However, I’ve repeatedly witnessed the kindness and generosity that people share. For instance, today, after a lovely experience getting my eyelashes done, the technician offered her services as a gift, simply because she appreciated that I visited her country.

I will carry this kind of generosity with me, aiming to be more generous and connected to others. Generosity raises one’s vibration and deepens one’s connection to one’s higher self and the world.

That’s my informal blog for this week. I’ll see you next week with another tool.
